Dr. Alexandra Breukel, Managing Director

Alexandra holds a PhD in neuroscience and has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for the past 20 years. She has made contributions to the clinical development and marketing of medicines in the disease area of psychiatry and oncology. Alexandra is responsible for delivering the strategic objectives of the ENMC, overseeing the core activities including the management of the workshops and raising awareness of the ENMC amongst key stakeholders. She represents the ENMC in the scientific community, supervising and supporting the ENMC office and responsible for developing and implementing new procedures, public relations and fundraising activities.


 Ms Annelies Zittersteijn, Operational Manager                                                               

As the Operational Manager, Annelies Zittersteijn is responsible for all administrative              
and organisational aspects of the ENMC workshops. She is the principal contact person
for participants with administrative matters. Present in the office three days a week and
also present during the workshops in Naarden, Annelies is available to assist the workshop
leader and managing all organisational details involving the participants with the different
service providers, such as the hotel and taxi personnel. 

 


Prof. George Padberg, Research Directorpicture_GP.jpg

George Padberg studied medicine at Leiden University and received his PhD with a thesis on facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). In 1993, he was appointed professor and head of the Department of Neurology at the Radboud UMC in Nijmegen. Last year, he retired from this position. Prof. Padberg is a member of the Dutch Society of Neurology and member of the scientific board of the FSHD Foundation in the Netherlands. As Research Director of ENMC, George Padberg chairs the Research Committee and supports the Executive Committee in defining and implementing the ENMC’s scientific policy with the team in Baarn.


Ms Lise Verwer and Ms Mirte Edens Workshop Assistants                                                                           
Lise and Mirte are hired for the Saturdays to assist at the ENMC workshops. They are then the host for and act as the contact person for the workshop participants.
